Max Verstappen has been dominating the world of F1. However, since winning his first world championship, he has been intrigued by the aspect of spending time with his family and would soon welcome his first child with Kelly Piquet this year. This gave him time to reflect upon his relationship with the Brazilian and assured that he would marry Piquet soon.
Kelly Piquet comes from a family with deep roots leading down to F1. Though her presence was not something out of the ordinary, she and Max Verstappen soon started dating in 2020. The pair later made their relationship official in 2021.
Since then, the couple has been regarded as ‘the one’ in the F1 paddock. After four year together, the lovebirds announced that they are expecting their first child together. This took the F1 world by a rave and a hoard of congratulatory messages came flooding towards Verstappen and Piquet.
While they are repping up for the newborns arrival, people started wondering that whether Verstappen and Piquet would ever marry or continue dating each other. Subsequently, the Dutchman put an end to such questions and asserted that he would marry the 36-year-old soon.
On the other hand, the 27-year-old won his fourth world championship last year. Rivals are also expected to start the season with a hefty advantage over Red Bull. Thus, Verstappen would have to pull out some magnificent drives to bring home a fifth world championship trophy.
Max Verstappen would not change his driving style despite hoarding up penalty points
Verstappen is quite notoriously known for his frantic driving within the paddock. He is often accused of exploiting the rules and pushing his rivals way beyond the limits. Consequently, such incidents have boosted up his total of penalty points (8) and is now only four points shy away from getting a race ban.
Regardless of the concerns that people might raise, Verstappen does not worry about such a situation. Moreover, he asserts that despite such consequences he would not change his driving style.
However, with the stakes getting even higher next year, he might have to take a defensive approach to bid for the title. If he gets another recalcitrant challenger, he would have to concede defeat and forget about winning a fifth consecutive drivers’ title.
