The 2024 Monaco GP qualifying has proved to be a memorable session for the lights of McLaren and Ferrari. But, for world-beaters like Red Bull, the event turned out to be a huge nightmare as at the end of it all, Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez found themselves in P6 and P18.
Red Bulls’ RB20 has not proved mighty around the 3.3 km long Monaco Street Circuit and Max Verstappen has admitted to this fact! Moreover, he has also made it known that his and Perez’s performance during qualifying was ‘disastrous.’
Verstappen’s Q3 time was nowhere near Charles Leclerc‘s 1:10:270.
I think what already says enough is looking at checo. Usually he’s good at street circuits. When you’re p18 and p6, that just shows we performed disastrously.Max Verstappen said in post qualifying interview

Looking at the reaction of the Dutchman, it is quite clear that he is extremely disappointed with how Red Bulls’ Monaco qualifying session panned out. While Verstappen was only able to manage a sixth place finish, no one was expecting Sergio Perez to get knocked out in Q1.
Red Bull tried several things in terms of RB20’s setup ahead of qualifying
While Verstappen is disappointed with the recent qualifying session, he has made it known that to improve the RB20, Red Bull tried several things ahead of qualifying. From Friday onwards, both Verstappen and Perez have dealt with several issues.
Moreover, Verstappen’s sixth place quali time was a disappointing 1:10:567 which was even slower than Mercedes’s George Russell.
We tried a lot of things with the car in terms of set-up, but nothing made it better. Then you are simply stuck with what you have and there is nothing more you can do.Max Verstappen said in post qualifying interviews
The Red Bull F1 team is currently leading the 2024 Constructors Championship by a decent margin. However, by the end of the Monaco race weekend, Ferrari could significantly reduce the gap. As things stand, the Austrian outfit is only 50 points ahead of Leclerc and company.
