Max Verstappen and Red Bull are no longer the dominant force in Formula 1. The reigning world champions have finally been forced down to second place in the Constructors’ standings after the Azerbaijan GP. Now, Verstappen has made it clear that the team has learned its lessons from Baku.

The three-time world champion highlighted that Red Bull understood what it did wrong during the Azerbaijan GP last weekend. Subsequently, Milton Keynes will be making changes and experimenting with its car for this week’s Singapore GP.

Moreover, Max Verstappen pointed out that the team’s initial adjustments for Baku worked well. However, the set-up changes made right before Qualifying ruined Red Bull’s weekend. Verstappen claimed that the team knew how to further optimize its set-up for the rest of 2024.

Max Verstappen wants ‘better control’ of RB20

The Red Bull RB20 has severe balance issues which has hampered Verstappen’s 2024 campaign. The Dutch driver highlighted that it was necessary to gain better control over the car to prevent it from ‘jumping’ around in slow-speed corners. Max Verstappen reckoned that this could definitely help the team’s performance.

It will be important to get better control of the car, especially in the slower parts of the track, so it doesn't 'jump around' as much. Hopefully that will help us a lot.

Certainly, Max Verstappen and Red Bull have work to do before heading to Singapore. The Austrian team needs to fix its issues as soon as possible for Verstappen to win the title. However, fans could expect to see some exciting racing in Marina Bay as the Dutch driver tries to fight for race victory.
