Red Bull had started the 2024 season off in a highly dominant fashion. However, Milton Keynes quickly lost out on performance and fell short in multiple races with Max Verstappen. The Dutchman still hasn’t given up on performing well and continued to score impressive results amidst RB20s disappointing performance. The 26-year-old noted that Red Bull wasn’t getting sloppy in extracting the maximum out of the challenger.

Max Verstappen‘s 2024 performance has showcased just how good he is as a Formula 1 driver. The Dutchman came extremely close to winning the Austrian GP but missed out on it due to a collision. Speaking upon the challenger’s performance, Verstappen noted that the team needed to continue to bring bits and pieces to the car. Hopefully, those small upgrades brought in an exponential performance improvement.

Red Bull has aced the ground-effect era after Adrian Newey’s brilliant work since the 2022 season. The RB20’s predecessor RB19 was one of the most capable chassis ever built in the history of the sport. However, the ‘non conventional’ RB20 has posed multiple hurdles to the Austrian constructor. Verstappen noted that he refused to believe that the team was lazy and couldn’t find more performance.

Max Verstappen claims Red Bull crew is ‘pushing flat out’ for chassis improvement

Red Bull has continued to bring in multiple upgrades in the hope of improving performance for Max Verstappen. However, the upgrades haven’t put forth any significant improvement just yet. Regardless, the 26-year-old is confident that the Red Bull crew was working flat out to try and bring bits of performance to the car.

However, Red Bull’s intelligence wasn’t the sole decider of their dominant performance in the 2024 season. The rival teams have quickly caught onto Milton Keynes and ousted them from the fastest spot. As a result, Verstappen added that there were a lot of smart people in the rival teams doing the same thing to improve performance.

But clearly, there are a lot of smart people in other teams that are also doing the same thing.

Red Bull will continue to bring in upgrades to the challenger to ensure their top spot is safe. McLaren is the biggest threat to Milton Keynes in the constructors’ championship after their newfound performance improvement. Hence, the 2024 season ensures a lot of competition and excitement for the fans.
