Max Verstappen ‘glad’ to continue ‘successful Red Bull partnership’ with Sergio Perez after the latter’s much-talked-about contract extension

The reigning world champion, Max Verstappen has shown delight over the new contract extension of Red Bull Racing teammate, Sergio Perez. The Mexican has signed a two-year contract extension after a long-drawn speculation saga over his future.
Sergio Perez joined Red Bull in 2021 and has performed decently for the team. However, speculations regarding the 34-year-old’s future floated towards the end of last year after a difficult campaign that saw him finish 290 points adrift of Max Verstappen.
The Mexican driver has been selfless to the team on numerous occasions and has proven his worth to the team time and again. The Milton-Keynes-based outfit hence has been cognizant of his efforts and has offered him a two-year contract extension that will keep him with the team until the end of 2026.

Perez has had a good start to this season scoring four podiums in five races but has seen a dip in his form in the Miami, Imola, and Monaco events. He will now be looking to bounce back from his woes during the coming weekend in Montreal as he eyes his first win of the 2024 season.

Sergio Perez has vowed to bounce back from his disastrous performance in Monaco in the Canadian Grand Prix. The 34-year-old has so far managed to amass 107 points in the driver’s championship and is currently, in fifth place.
While the race was a disaster in Monaco, we were in the wrong grid position due to a poor qualifying and we need to solve that in Montreal. Red Bull has had a strong start to the season, winning five out of a possible seven races. However, the team faced major issues during the Monaco Grand Prix as they failed to score fruitful points.
Sergio Perez has a crucial role to play at the Canadian Grand Prix. With the surety of a future with the team, the 34-year-old will now look to perform to the best of his abilities as he looks to put some much-needed points on the scoreboard for the team in the Constructors Championship. Ferrari is in touching distance of Red Bull heading into the Montreal event.
