McLaren closes the gap to Red Bull down to just eight points

McLaren has continued to breathe down the necks of Red Bull in the constructors’ championship. Woking was just 30 points away from taking the championship lead of the 2024 season. However, a wonky job from McLaren at the Italian GP has disallowed them from overtaking Red Bull just yet.

Regardless, McLaren has cut down the point difference to just eight points in the championship standings. Hence, the upcoming Azerbaijan GP would be extremely crucial for Red Bull. Verstappen will have to put forth his best performance to ensure Milton Keynes stays in the lead.

The Italian GP was a rude awakening to Red Bull in terms of their performance. Verstappen’s agitation is further proof of the team’s failure to improve their current position. The 2024 season still has eight races pending with the championship standings being all to play for.
