Max Verstappen, upon his performance in FP2 of the British GP stated, during one of his fast laps he made a mistake by going ultra fast into a corner, so he decided to stop that lap early. The Dutchman mentioned while he was using soft tires which are supposed to go faster, but he didn’t get the best results out of them. However, the medium tires seemed to work better for him during the session. He acknowledged team must make some more improvements to the car.
It was okay, I just overshot, so I aborted my lap. On the soft tire it didn't go so well. In the FP2 the medium looked a bit better, and we still have some work to do.Max Verstappen said, as reported by RacingNews365
Max Verstappen explained that the team tried various adjustments on the car and now needs to analyze the data to understand what worked and what didn’t. This analysis may guide them in deciding the best way to set up the car for the rest of the weekend. He also mentioned about the forecasted rain on Saturday, which could have had an impact on their strategy. Red Bull need to consider the wet conditions and ensure the car is ready for different weather scenarios.
We also tried a few things with the car and have to analyse what we can do better. That will show us which way to go. It's probably going to rain on Saturday, so we have to take that into account as well.Max Verstappen stated
Sergio Perez considered British GP FP2 as a solid session
Sergio Perez described the British GP FP2 session as a solid one. Despite the team losing the entire morning practice session, he felt good about how the car was performing overall. However, Checo noted that they need to improve the car’s balance, particularly in the low-speed and medium-speed corners. Because these are the areas where the car’s handling isn’t quite as strong, and finding the right balance in these corners is crucial for better performance.
It was a solid session, considering that we lost the whole morning. It was good, the car is feeling good. I think we need to find some balance, especially in the low-speed, medium-speed.Sergio Perez said, as reported by Formula1. com
Further, Perez mentioned that the car feels extremely good at the high speed sections. He explained that the session was quite complicated as there were many factors to consider. They had to focus on finding the best performance and then switch to testing with a higher fuel. This made the session challenging but necessary to gather all the information they need to improve.
The high-speed feels really nice in the car. It feels like a very complicated session because there is a lot that comes to you. You’re straight away going to finding performance and into high fuel.Sergio Perez added
Certainly, Sergio Perez highlighted that he had a good session overall because the team identified where they were lacking. Fans were pleased to see Checo in third position and hope for a better performance at the main event on Sunday.
