Max Verstappen and Red Bull faced a stiff challenge in the 2024 season. The Dutch driver managed to salvage the world title after a difficult campaign. Now, Verstappen has hinted that things might get better for Milton Keynes this year.
The reigning world champion drove the RB21 in Bahrain during preseason testing. The 2025 challenger supposedly should have fixed the vices of its predecessor. Max Verstappen even claimed that everything was under control when he first made his on-track debut with the new car.
Verstappen revealed that the RB21 was more predictable than the RB20. However, the Red Bull star refused to provide any details, claiming that such information was not necessary. Rather, the 27-year-old asserted that Milton Keynes will withhold such details for themselves, without giving rivals any hint.
It [the predictability of the RB21] improved everywhere compared to last year. I don’t want to too much into detail, that’s not necessary.. We keep that for ourselves.

Helmut Marko positive over solving Red Bull’s issues
Last year, the Austrian team struggled with balance issues of the RB20. Now, it seems that things have improved. Red Bull Motorsport Consultant Dr. Helmut Marko agreed with Verstappen over the car becoming more predictable. Moreover, Marko suggested that the problems from 2024 had largely been solved with the RB21.

The car is more predictable and reacts to changes as it should. The problems we had last year have, in my opinion, been largely resolved – or perhaps even completely solved.

Certainly, Red Bull has a lot at stake with its new car. Max Verstappen might decide to leave Milton Keynes if he has another difficult year. However, the 27-year-old recognizes that the fight at the front will only get closer this season. As such, fans can expect to see a tough battle for the 2025 world championship.
