Max Verstappen admits ‘extreme nervousness’ during birth of Lily
Max Verstappen is one of the greatest drivers in the pinnacle of motorsports. As such, high adrenaline and nervousness are second nature to him while racing on the track. However, the Dutchman recalled the nerves that he was feeling during the birth of his first child Lily, just a few days before. Even the four-time champion couldn’t hold back from being nervous and worried during the birth of Lily.

Max Verstappen points out that he zones out from everything going on in his life by not showing much emotion. This helped him focus on driving in Miami weekend, with the birth of Lily being in his mind. Still, he accepted that he kept on thinking about her little daughter, as this was a completely new experience for him. The 27-year-old funnily asserted that he had never been as nervous during a resting heart rate as he was during the delivery of his child.
By not having a lot of emotion in a lot of things. With my baby that’s something different! I think I’ve never been that nervous in a resting heartrate!
Max Verstappen told Sky Sports
Verstappen will definitely be one of the better dads as he is already accustomed to handling a daughter’s traits after taking care of Penelope. The Dutchman has learnt quite a lot about daughters after being a bonus dad to Lily. Additionally, he has clarified that he won’t force the kid into motorsports like his father did to him. Hence, it is safe to assume that Lily would grow up in a very loving home with Kelly Piquet and Verstappen.
