Sergio Perez failed to make it out of Q1 for the fourth time in the last six races after crashing into the barriers in Budapest. The Mexican had been facing some tough challenges for a long time and had been criticized a lot about his performance. Despite his contract extension, his seat for 2025 remains unconfirmed because of his ongoing poor performance. Max Verstappen backs his teammate amid criticism.

Max Verstappen expressed his support for his teammate Sergio Perez, who had been struggling with bad performances for a long time and is going through a poor performance streak. Verstappen mentioned that he helps Checo in every aspect and answers all the questions regarding his future and performance. He also mentioned helping Perez with his car setup, by which he can strongly perform in the races. Despite the Mexican’s recent failure to perform well in Budapest, the Dutchman continued to support him every weekend. It must be noted that Red Bull will make a decision on Perez’s future soon.

He and Sergio Perez have been racing together since 2021, the year Verstappen won his first championship title. During that time, Perez supported the 26-year-old a lot, something he would never forget. Because of this, their friendship has grown strong over the years. The Dutchman stated that there is no problem in their relationship amid Perez’s recent struggles.

Helmut Marko claims Red Bull is behind McLaren in terms of pace

Helmut Marko stated that McLaren had the fastest car on the grid and they used the best strategy to keep drivers away from the leading position. He mentioned that while McLaren is very fast at the moment, Red Bull is not far behind in terms of performance. Marko highlighted in the upcoming races McLaren will be more competitive, however Red Bull would still give them a tough challenge.
