Martin Brundle asserts Max Verstappen’s ‘legacy will be tainted’ amidst his racing attitude

Max Verstappen is infamous for his hard and borderline risky driving style on the grid compared to his rivals. Verstappen’s risky driving at the Mexican GP awarded him a 20-second time penalty following the on-track antics against Lando Norris. Hence, Martin Brundle reckoned that the Dutchman had more driving talent than anyone in the world. However, the 27-year-old’s legacy might be tainted due to his ‘don’t care’ attitude on the grid.

I know that Max doesn’t care what anybody thinks, but it saddens me when he drives like that. He’s a multiple champion, has more driving talent in his little finger than most of us ever had, but his legacy will be tainted by this sporting attitude and that’s a shame.

The Milton-Keynes-based Red Bull F1 team’s performance struggle in the 2024 season has caught Verstappen in a whirlwind. The Dutchman is unable to fight for the race wins following the struggling pace of the RB20. Hence, the 27-year-old is likely to showcase his hard-fought racing style on the track to continue to hold onto his driver’s championship lead.
