Max Verstappen has continued to be agitated on the grid during races due to Red Bull’s dwindling pace. McLaren boss Zak Brown previously reckoned that the the Austrian outfit was shifting towards a ‘toxic environment’ especially due to Verstappen’s antics. However, the Dutchman wasn’t mincing his words while replying to the McLaren CEO regarding Milton Keynes’ problems.

Zak Brown had claimed that Red Bull was ‘destabilized’ due to the ‘toxic’ environment within the crew. Max Verstappen shut down Brown’s comments and noted that people said all sorts of stuff. Subsequently, the 27-year-old asked the Briton to focus on his own team and their problems.

People that say all sorts of stuff should just focus on their own team.

Verstappen made it clear that these comments weren’t directed specifically towards Zak Brown, but the general masses. The Dutchman believed that everyone should focus on themselves and their problems and not others. Verstappen himself was doing the same and asked people to follow this principle too.

That’s nothing specifically against Zak Brown, by the way, it applies to everyone. People just need to focus on themselves, and that’s what I’m doing as well.

The 2024 championship battle ‘very different’ from 2021 Abu Dhabi GP fiasco

Max Verstappen won his maiden championship in the 2021 season in a very controversial manner. Lewis Hamilton and Verstappen had a title clash in the final race. However, speaking about the 2024 challenge against Lando Norris, the Dutchman believed it was very different. The 27-year-old noted that he wanted to win and would do his best to defend the lead against Norris.

I want to win and of course, I’m going to do my best to defend that [52-point] lead. But the feeling is very different from 2021.

Red Bull has continued to bring in multiple upgrades to the RB20 chassis to improve performance. With six more races pending, anything can happen as multiple drivers set their eyes on the prize. Verstappen would have to work extra hard to fend off against the in-form Norris in the 2024 season.
