Jos Verstappen has been believed to not have the best of relationships with Max Verstappen due to the troubled past between the two. Regardless, the father-son duo is spotted together on race weekends as they move on from the issues. Verstappen Sr. revealed that he had flu at the time of Verstappen Jr’s celebrations of four championship wins and didn’t want to pass it on to his son and others.
Apart from the flu, Verstappen Sr. had other commitments in motion as he was absent at the celebration. The time difference at the American race weekends was also one of the reasons behind his absence at the event. Moreover, the Dutchman had another race weekend upcoming for himself and he also had to prepare for that. All these reasons combined forced the 52-year-old to not be present at the celebrations.
Jos Verstappen ‘doubted’ Max Verstappen to maintain championship lead in 2024
Red Bull’s incessant struggles had caused Max Verstappen major problems in maintaining his championship lead. As a result, Jos Verstappen doubted whether the Dutchman would maintain the lead over the course of the development of the car. However, even the father had to accept that performances like the Brazilian GP from Verstappen caused the latter to easily win the 2024 Drivers’ Championship.
