Red Bull’s massive struggles are clear as day and the team is under threat of losing the constructors’ championship. The 2024 season has put forth a massively disappointing situation in terms of performance for them. Hence, Max Verstappen‘s father Jos Verstappen laid out the cold hard truth regarding the team trying to ‘sugarcoat’ its situation.

Jos Verstappen recently had a disruption with Christian Horner which led to a serious back and forth. The two moved on from the issues and looked ahead to Red Bull trying to perform well. However, amidst continuous failing performances, Verstappen Sr. reckoned that the Austrian constructor couldn’t ‘sugarcoat’ the situation any further.

You can’t sugarcoat it anymore, the situation is serious.

Additionally, Jos Verstappen wasn’t mincing words while ill-talking the team’s performance. The Dutchman claimed that his son Max Verstappen wouldn’t be too happy. Hence, the 52-year-old believed that all lay on Christian Horner’s hands to improve the team’s disappointing pace mid-way through the 2024 season.

Jos Verstappen labels Max Verstappen’s Dutch GP loss as a ‘huge disappointment’

Max Verstappen was unable to score the race win at his home race of the Dutch GP. Moreover, the Dutchman was dominated in performance after having a gap of over 20 seconds to the race leader. Hence, Jos Verstappen noted that this performance disparity was a huge disappointment. However, it wasn’t very surprising as Red Bull was ‘regressing’ the RB20 in the ongoing campaign.

Over 20 seconds is a huge disappointment. Max never had a chance of winning, But that’s not surprising when you regress the car.

As a result, the Austrian constructor only has nine races remaining to improve in performance and take in learnings for the upcoming season. The issues could further spiral as the three-time world champion could deem a move to another constructor amidst failing performances. Hence, the coming few races are very crucial for Red Bull.
