Max Verstappen‘s relationship with his girlfriend Kelly Piquet is heartwarming as often displayed on the track. Verstappen continues to nurture Piquet’s daughter with Daniil Kvyat, Penelope. However, the Dutchman hasn’t claimed P’s fathership as he continues to share a loving relationship with her. Amidst this, Piquet was absent at the New York Fashion Week as she has revealed the real reason.

Kelly Piquet is a full-time model who has worked with multiple major brands while dating Max Verstappen. However, apart from being a model, Piquet is also a single parent to Penelope. Being a single parent is already difficult as the Brazilian also has to work as a model. As a result, the 35-year-old was absent at the recent New York Fashion Week.

Kelly Piquet took the opportunity to share the real reason behind this occurrence on Instagram. Piquet noted that Penelope was ‘very anxious’ and had her first day of school on the same day as the Fashion Week. Hence, there was nowhere P’s mother would be other than with her daughter. Additionally, the Brazilian model opened up about the pressures of being a single mother and how she had to prioritize her daughter.

A lot of DMs asking why I'm not at NYFW and the short answer is: a very anxious little girl starts school today (!!!) and it was my utmost priority to stay with her during this very important time. There is nowhere I'd rather be than here with her. As a single parent I can only rely on myself to make sure everything is prepared and organised, giving P the emotional support.

Kelly Piquet claimed she would never ‘think twice’ before sacrificing career over her daughter

Penelope is a lovely child who needs her mother more than anything in the world. And Kelly Piquet doesn’t fail to always stay by her daughter and nurture her in the best way possible. Hence, Piquet further claimed that she was ready to sacrifice her career for the sake of her daughter. Additionally, the Brazilian model noted that she wouldn’t think twice before making this decision for her daughter.

That's a sacrifice as a parent that needs to be made and I will never think twice.
