McLaren reveals 2024 ‘AIM’ amidst ‘tough battle’ with Ferrari and the mighty Red Bulls’

The McLaren F1 team has been on a roll since the last two races. Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri have performed exceptionally well in the potent MCL38. With Canada just around the corner, Andrea Stella has shed light on his team’s target for 2024.
The papaya-colored team has found itself in a battle with heavy hitters like Ferrari and Red Bull this year. Andrea Stella and Co. are currently third in the Constructors Championship but are steadily closing the gap to the front-running teams.
As things stand, McLaren has so far managed to amass 184 points in the 2024 standings.
We go into this year’s Canadian Grand Prix more optimistic than last year’s, but with the understanding that we still face a tough battle to be competitive here. Looking at the reaction of Stella, it is quite clear that he and his team are pleased with the development they have made around the MCL38. Moreover, on the back of this, has admitted that the woking-based team’s ultimate target is to prove as sharp as possible at every race weekend.
Lando Norris feels McLaren has its ‘work cut out’ in Montreal
While Stella has oozed immense optimism ahead of the Canadian Grand Prix, Lando Norris feels McLaren is in for a tough battle around the 4.361 km circuit. The track has a mix of fast and slow-speed sections.
Norris managed a disappointing 13th-place finish at the circuit last year.
I enjoy racing in Montréal, it’s a fun track with some challenging sections which make it more exciting. Our car has performed well at a few different types of circuits, but we know we might have our work cut out in Canada. The fight for the 2024 Constructors Championship is heating up nicely. McLaren and Ferrari are on the charge and are hot on Red Bulls’ tail. Keeping in view what Stella and Norris have said ahead of the Canadian event, the upcoming three day race weekend could prove to be an extremely exciting affair.
