HM began the season as title favorites as its driver William Byron won the season opener and Kyle Larson emerged as a title contender. Despite this, 23XI Racing took the fight to the front of the field and won the regular season championship with Tyler Reddick. Winning the regular title led to people believing that the team’s co-owner, Michael Jordan was happy with the results. However, the 61-year-old revealed that he was not satisfied with the team’s showing at Darlington despite winning the title.

23XI Racing made its debut in 2021 and began its charge to become one of the top teams in the sport. Subsequently, the team learned from its past mistakes in the previous two seasons and utilized the information to be well prepared for the 2024 season and they hit the ground running from the get-go. This led them to win the regular season championship by a solitary point ahead of Kyle Larson.

We gotta keep striving. Belive me I'm not satisfied by any means, he still has a chance to win the championship at the end of the season that's what we gotta strive for. I'm still dissapointed obviously that we didn't get both cars in. Like I said Bubba[Wallace] did a great job in qualifying and trying to get himself in, but you know that dissapointment makes me happy to see [Tyler]Reddick fight himself to a championship.

On the other hand, he claimed that there was still a long way to go before they win the Cup Series championship and commended Tyler Reddick‘s persistence to participate in the race despite being ill.

So I mean I'm kind of half way feeling better, and half-way feeling sad but look we are blessed as a team and we are gonna keep getting better.

Michael Jordan takes a sarcastic jibe at Denny Hamlin

While 23XI Racing became a championship name within NASCAR, its co-owner Denny Hamlin is yet to win a championship. This has often been pointed out within the NASCAR field as people have taken multiple jibes at the JGR driver for being unable to win a championship throughout his expansive career.

Subsequently, Hamlin posted a video on social media revealing a fun interaction between him and the retired basketball legend. The 43-year-old joked by claiming that he could finally touch the championship trophy when Jordan came in and took a dig at his championship-less trophy cabinet by questioning him “You got one of these don’t you?”

On the other hand, playoffs would commence this weekend in Atlanta. Thus, Reddick would be hoping to leave his impression at the Cup Series championship by claiming his maiden Cup Series title as the 23XI Racing outfit entourages towards the playoffs.
