Lewis Hamilton the former 7-time F1 World Champion has made it known that he is in the process of launching his all-new TV production Company under the name Dawn Apollo Films.
Lewis Hamilton currently holds the records for most F1 wins, and pole positions in the sport and he recently sat down for an interview where he discussed in detail his upcoming new venture.
The Brit has partnered up with talent outfit, Cooper to get the process started and is getting assistance every step of the way from his Manager, Penni Thow.
While talking about it, Hamilton added, “I’ve always been into movies. I watch a lot. I find it a real escape. There are a lot of movies I find inspiring and I’ve always dreamed of one day doing something in this space. The question was often asked whether I would act.”
“I’ve been very fortunate to be an F1 driver so I never really had time to dedicate to the craft of acting but a dream of mine has been to story-tell. I sat down with my team, and I asked “What would it take for us to start a production company?“
Moreover, two of the firm’s projects are already in-line slated to hit the market with Apple TV+. As per the trusted sources, one of the projects is based around F1 and is directed by Top Gun: Maverick director, Joe Kosinski.
The other is a featured documentary that is based on Lewis Hamilton’s journey in F1 and how he has been breaking barriers on and off the track.
The hype around the two projects is huge among the F1 fanatics and is going to keep on building as more details would start coming out in the media.
Lewis Hamilton’s take on selecting Dawn Apollo Films as the name of the production
Ever since the news of Lewis Hamilton launching a new production line hit the market, the fans have been going crazy and the Brit was recently asked to dwell on why he went with Dawn Apollo films as the name of the production line.
While stating his reasons, Hamilton added, “Apollo is the Greek god of sunlight, music, and poetry, so I’ve always loved the name. Dawn because it is a time of other-worldliness and light, and symbolizes new beginnings. It’s generally a time of day that I love.”
“We have a couple of great projects in the works with Apple TV+. One is the documentary and the other is the F1 movie we’re making with Brad Pitt and Joe Kosinski. I actually had an opportunity to work with Joe on Top Gun: Maverick.”
“Tom [Cruise] put me on the phone with him and Joe moved heaven and earth to create space for me to be one of the pilots in the film, but I wasn’t able to make it work, which I regret every day. I try to grasp these opportunities when they come up now, but the racing season is still paramount.”
As Lewis Hamilton is getting older, he is venturing into new fields regularly, and considering that he is now going to start his own production firm, it will not come as a huge surprise if the prolific Brit sometime in the future is seen playing characters in big-time Hollywood movies.
