“A lot is still going to happen,” Former F1 driver backs Ferrari to make ‘solid comeback’

Ferrari
Red Bull after the Azerbaijan Grand Prix has made a solid lead for themselves in both the Constructors and Driver’s Championship but former racing driver Jan Lammers feels Red Bull cannot afford to get complacent as he believes Ferrari is still a force to be reckoned with this season.
During a recent podcast, Lammers has indicated the one-lap pace that has helped Ferrari in securing regular pole positions this season.
The experienced veteran driver believes that if the prancing horse is able to get a permanent fix for its reliability issues, then they are going to make life very difficult for the Milton-Keynes Red Bull team.
While emphasizing Ferrari Lammers said, “If the Ferrari’s stay in one piece later on and they have solved the problems, Red Bull is not ‘home-free’ again. So yes, they have a nice lead in terms of points, but I think they’re going to need those points badly too. A lot is still going to happen.”

Lammers knows that there are still 14 rounds to go in the 2022 season and given the unpredictability of the sport, has not ruled out an Italian comeback.

Things are calm at Ferrari despite Azerbaijan’s setback

Jan Lammers believes that Ferrari is aware of what they are capable of this season and according to him, at the moment no red alarms are going off in their factories.
I think we give them too little credit if we start using terms like ‘frustrated’ or ‘panic’. Of course, it is grist to the mill when something goes wrong at an Italian team. Then we think there is immediate panic, but I heard Binotto after the match and there is just someone who is very relaxed and balanced,” said Lammers.

Mattia Binotto is an experienced man when it comes to F1 and if he is saying that things are ‘relaxed and balanced’ then it means that the Italian team is not too worried about the reliability issues as they have the confidence in them to get on top of their problems and once again start delivering.
Will they be able to put a strong performance in Canada?
