The Red Bull F1 team had a terrible outing during the three-day Singapore GP weekend. The outfit was surprisingly off the pace of the front runners and was nowhere in battle for the win. A lot has already been said about the Austrian team’s Singapore woes. Amidst all the rumors, Red Bull’s Chief Technology Officer, Adrian Newey has come forward and given certain details regarding the same.

Leading into the Singapore weekend, the Milton-Keynes-based team was on a sensational run at the pinnacle of motor racing. They were on a warpath and considered the favorite to triumph at the Marina Bay Street Circuit. But everyone saw what eventually happened, and Adrian Newey admitted that Red Bull was dealing with a truckload of issues in Singapore.

Ahead of the main race, the former F1 team manager, Peter Windsor, had a detailed conversation with Newey and Windsor later on; while talking about the same, they said, “[I was] chatting to Adrian Newey before the race, and ran around in the whole business of has the latest technical directive played any role in not being quick this weekend. He looked at me like I was mad and said, ‘No, of course not, it has nothing to do with that.”

It’s just that he said ‘We just had a perfect storm of everything going wrong in one weekend’.” Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez faced shift issues on their respective RB19s in Singapore. Adrian Newey further told Windsor that the issues were because of the “humidity in the ambiance.”

Adrian Newey and Co. could come under immense pressure in the upcoming F1 races

While Adrian Newey has blamed many reasons for Red Bull’s lackluster outing at the Marina Bay Street Circuit, the team could come under more pressure from the upcoming Japanese Grand Prix onwards. The lights of Mercedes, Ferrari, and even McLaren have made a big step forward in the right direction.

The teams as mentioned above have been performing at an extremely high level since the last few F1 races, and they all were way better than Red Bull in Singapore. Considering this, Christian Horner and Co. will have their work cut out for them during this week’s race at the Suzuka International Racing Course.

However, despite the troubles that Red Bull has faced in its most recent F1 outing, the RB19 is still a potent weapon. Max Verstappen has proved to be a menace behind the wheel and while heading to Japan, the whole Red Bull team would be more determined than ever to make a roaring comeback.
