I don’t know whether [Hamilton] going to Ferrari is going to be the end all and be all of what Ferrari needs. I really don’t think it was [the right move for Ferrari] to be honest. In terms of increasing their share price, yes. But I just don’t think he is going to be the [answer].
Alan Jones said in an interview with the Herald Sun

It has been over a decade since the Maranelllo-based team was able to lift the World Driver’s Championship. Hamilton is joining the team to change this, but, Jones questions whether the the former is what Ferrari needs to achieve its objective.

Lewis Hamilton’s Mercedes is banking on ‘data’ for Australian GP

While Alan Jones has made it known that Lewis Hamilton will not prove to be the solution Ferrari is looking for, the latter is still a Mercedes driver for the time being. The ongoing campaign has not started in a strong fashion for the team and they are looking to fix it in Melbourne.

Mercedes’ trackside engineering director, Andrew Shovlin has admitted that the German outfit is banking on the data from previous races to pull out a strong showing at the free-flowing Albert Park racing circuit.

There's definitely data that we're picking through from Jeddah. We're also looking at data from Bahrain race, Bahrain test and we will come up with a plan for how we approach free practice in Melbourne.
Andrew Shovlin said in an interview with Sky Sports

George Russell has started the 2024 season in a decent fashion but Hamilton, on the other hand, has struggled behind the wheel of the W15. The latter only managed a ninth-place finish in Jeddah and considering this, he will be expected to deliver during the upcoming weekend. Moreover, Ferrari will also be keeping a close eye on his outing.
