Alex Palou is currently making his trade in IndyCar, but despite this fact, his name has come in several F1 conversations recently. It is believed that Palou has held talks with a few F1 teams, which got on the nerves of McLaren’s CEO, Zak Brown, who, in frustration, came up with a letter to Arrow McLaren racing.
Alex Palou has previously done an F1 test with McLaren and was brought within their setup with the hope of him racing for them in IndyCar with the option of switching to F1 in future years. However, with the recent news of him having held talks with F1 teams for next year, Zak Brown is extremely disappointed.
The 51-year-old, while letting the situation be known to the employees of Arrow McLaren Racing, wrote in a letter, “This is incredibly disappointing considering the commitment he has made to us both directly and publicly and our significant investment in him based on that commitment.”
While the noise around this was just getting settled, Palou came up with a response and said, as reported by Soymotor, “These last days have been very busy both inside and outside the circuit. I know you’re all waiting for me to say something, but it’s not the time to talk yet. I promise you that I will give my version of the facts when the season is over. I will tell you what has happened and what will happen in the future. Now the best thing is to wait, but everything will come.”

Alex Palou is believed to have held talks with Williams and AlphaTauri
While the Alex Palou-Zak Brown saga will surely roll for quite some time, it is a common belief that the latter has recently been in touch with Williams F1 and Red Bulls sister team, AlphaTauri. The two outfits have got seats available for next year at the moment, and Palou is looking to grab the opportunity with both hands.
As far as the racing career of the Spanish driver goes, he is 27 years old and is just about entering his prime years. He is well aware of how difficult it is to break into the pinnacle of motor racing and feels it would be in his best interest to get a seat in the sport as soon as possible.
Williams and AlphaTarui have at least one seat available for 2024, considering how the ongoing F1 campaign has panned out for the drivers of both teams. While there are a few other factors in play as well, it is going to be fascinating to see whether Alex Palou will be able to find a seat for next year or not.
