The AlphaTauri outfit is the sister team of the mighty Red Bull Formula 1 team. While the latter has romped everything in its path to the very top this year, AlphaTauri, on the other hand, sits plumb last in the Constructors standings with only three points to show for their relentless efforts.

AlphaTauri understands the pickle they are in currently, and ahead of the Singapore GP, they have made it known that the team will have Red Bull-inspired AT04s on track at the famous Marina Bay Formula 1 Street circuit. The team is excited about the prospect and has got a big upgrade in the pipeline for the upcoming race.

While shedding light on the same in detail, the Faenza-based team’s CEO, Peter Bayer, told Formul1.uno, “This year, we’ve seen some amazing changes in the results scheme, when suddenly Aston Martin popped up, and suddenly McLaren popped up. But I think that’s really down to the fact they all understood what Red Bull Racing did in terms of design philosophy.”

We actually have a big upgrade coming for Singapore, which will follow the same philosophy. So everybody’s closing in on that, and then I think next year will be extremely close“. Moreover, Bayer has also admitted that AlphaTauri will ‘exploit the technical collaboration’ with Red Bull to deliver more performance.

While Peter Bayer has oozed a lot of optimism around AlphaTauri’s chances at the Singapore GP, the Italian outfit has the chance of making up a place in the standings if they can deliver consistent performances from the upcoming race onward. Yuki Tsunoda and Co. have got Alfa Romeo ahead of them and are in the catching distance.

Alfa Romeo is also another team that has struggled this year and, after fourteen rounds, has only managed ten points in the 2023 F1 season. AlphaTauri is only seven points behind them, and if their upgrades work well in Singapore, they could find themselves in a better position for the rest of the campaign.

The Marina Bay Circuit requires high downforce on F1 cars and is also one of the most physically demanding races on an F1 calendar. Having a good qualifying session is the key to securing strong points at the circuit, and considering everything that has been discussed above, several eyes will be on the two AT04s from Friday onwards.
