AlphaTauri unequivocally deny ‘cheating accusations’: “We compete with the highest levels of respect and sportsmanship”

The Dutch Grand Prix was a very eventful one for AlphaTauri as their driver Yuki Tsunoda faced issues with his car mid race. The car stopped in the middle of the track, triggering the deployment of a Virtual Safety Car.

At this point in the race, Lewis Hamilton was leading the race and Verstappen‘s win at Zandvoort seemed bleak. However, the deployment of the VSC was a blessing in disguise for Verstappen as it allowed him to catch up to the race leader and it unintentionally helped him win the race.

Many enraged Hamilton fans, called into question the suspicious timing of Tsunoda’s car failure and speculated that it was a backup stratgey cooked up by AlphaTauri and its sister team Red-Bull. AlphaTauri has dismissed the absurd claim made by the fans in a recent social media post.

The team has assured the public that no such absurd conspiracy was cooked up and that the timing of the failure was purely coincidental. They have condemned the hate shown to Red-Bull strategist Hannah Schmitz and insist that they competed with the ‘Highest levels of respect and sportsmanship.’

Will Yuki Tsunoda keep his seat at AlphaTauri next year?

Yuki Tsunoda has been having a bad season in the 2022 Formula 1 season so far with him scoring a mere 11 points for himself and his team placing him 16th in the driver standings. While his teammate Pierre Gasly has scored a total of 18 points placing him 14th on the driver standings.

There have been rumours circulating among the paddock and among the fans as to whether Tsunoda will be able to retain his seat with AlphaTauri for the 2023 season and many believe that he will not be able to.

Unless Tsunoda is able to perform better in the upcoming races, his possibility for a seat with AlphaTauri in the next F1 season will come under threat and could potentially leave him out of a seat in Formula 1. He joined the team last year but has been unable to show any outstanding performances, and if he is unable to perform well anytime soon he will possibly not be in the next Formula 1 season.
