The team’s evolution since the season’s start is clear, with Oscar Piastri‘s second-place Sprint race finish standing out. The trajectory post-break remains uncertain as McLaren discontinues major MCL60 development. Now McLaren driver Lando Norris expressed his views on McLaren’s rebuild.

“The level of work and companionship we did at MTC on how they tried to develop the car, and their ambition to come up with new ideas – and a lot of that started, I guess since Andrea came in – there’s been a big upward trend in vibe and atmosphere,” Speedcafe quotes Norris.

Lando Norris’ assertion of the excitement seems substantiated by the notable names the team has recently drawn in. The acquisition of Rob Marshall from Red Bull stands out as a significant triumph. Closely followed by the recruitment of Ferrari engineer David Sanchez, showcasing the team’s growing appeal.

Norris mentioned that many things had taken a positive step forward. He noted that individuals were joining from Ferrari and Red Bull, bringing a significant amount of respect, knowledge, and expertise across various domains.

Norris anticipated future developments, believing them to be more exciting than the potential alternative outcomes. He observed that these new additions appeared to possess a greater understanding and a more defined direction regarding the necessary changes.

“We have some good people that are coming from Ferrari, from Red Bull, people who have a lot of respect, knowledge, expertise in all of these different areas. So I’m looking forward to what’s to come because I believe it’s more exciting than where we could have been. They seem to have more knowledge and a clearer path of what really needs to change,” Lando Norris further continued.
