Sergio Perez, the Red Bull F1 driver, has had a horrendous time behind the wheel of Red Bull’s RB19. For his below-par performances, he has come under immense pressure, but despite this fact, his dad, Antonio Perez, has made it known that, in his opinion, he will be a Red Bull driver for the next ten years.

Sergio Perez has a contract with the Milton-Keynes-based outfit until the end of the 2024 F1 season. However, the way things have panned out for him this year, there are no guarantees that he will be on the team next year. In the years after, there was a genuine belief on the paddock that he would be shown the exit door.

While all the odds are stacked against Perez continuing with Red Bull in the upcoming years, Antonio Perez has given a perplexing interview during the ongoing Mexico GP weekend. He claimed that his son would be driving for Red Bull for ten more years and would win the world championship during those years.

Checo will certainly drive with Max in the same team for another ten years. And in those ten years, Checo might win a world championship. “I like that my son is competing with the best driver in the world. And the best driver in the world right now is Max Verstappen.

Antonio Perez said, as reported by Motorsports Total.com.

Senior Perez feels that his son is racing alongside the best driver currently in F1 and does not want to see it change anytime soon. Moreover, has indicated that Sergio can also win a world championship.

Sergio Perez could lose his Red Bull seat ahead of 2025 to Daniel Ricciardo

While Antonio Perez has envisioned a bright future for his son at Red Bull, Sergio Perez’s Red Bull seat is highly sought after in the F1 paddock. For 2025, there are quite a few contenders for the seat, but it is consensus that the former Red Bull driver, Daniel Ricciardo, is the favorite.

Ricciardo recently signed a contract extension with AlphaTauri and has repeatedly made it known that he desperately wants to get back into the Red Bull setup. He views his current stint with the Faenza-based team as a stepping stone toward achieving his ultimate goal of driving for the Austrian outfit again.

During the recently finished qualifying session in Mexico City, Sergio Perez could only manage a P5 finish in the mighty RB19, whereas Ricciardo pulled off a blinder of a P4 in an Alphatauri. Considering everything, it seemed very unlikely that Antonio Perez’s wishes for his son would come true.
