Aston Martin

The green team of the paddock, Aston Martin finds themselves at the back of the grid as the 2022 season unfolds. The Aston martin team finishing 7th in the constructor’s championship in 2021, aspired to be top of the mid-field come 2022. The Silverstone based team is funded by the infamous billionaire, Lawrence Stroll who has high ambitions for the team’s future. As a roadmap to achieve this success the Aston Martin team signed the 4-time world champion, Sebastian Vettel for the 2021 season on a multi-year deal. Sebastian Vettel pairs up with the Canadian, Lance Stroll as the drivers for the Aston Martin F1 team.

At the start of 2022 season, Aston Martin saw an alteration in some of its key personnel. The team saw the departure of team principal, Otmar Szafnauer replaced by the experienced, Mike Krack. The team also signed other major names in the sport such as Dan Fallows from Redbull Racing, all with a vision to make progress. However, the team has taken a step back come the 2022 championship with the Aston Martin car lacking performance in key-areas.

Aston Martin Hopeful to find the missing Lap Time

The Aston Martin team’s pile of problems increased with the news of their driver, Sebastian Vettel missing the first two races of the season because of Covid-19. Sebastian Vettel was replaced by Nico Hulkenberg for these races, alongside Lance Stroll. Nevertheless, the Aston Martin team failed to match the expectations due its car being majorly held back due to the porpoising issue. Aston Martin’s chief technical officer, Andrew Green expressed his thoughts by sayingSome teams are simply less affected by porpoising because the flow field of their cars works with more ground clearance.”
