The 2022 Formula 1 season has completed five rounds and has given us an indication of the season favorites. The year with new rules and regulations in the sport has resulted in both highs and lows for different teams in the paddock. The team finishing 7th in the constructors championship in 2021, Aston Martin currently sits in 9th position in the 2022 season. Their campaign has not kicked off as they would have hoped.

Walking into a new era of Formula 1, Aston Martin were highly optimistic to turn the tide on their prior performances in the sport. The team recruited the 4-time world champion, Sebastian Vettel to pair up with, Lance Stroll to fight with the leaders up ahead. However, a disappointing package has put the team on back foot and have left them being the back markers of Formula 1. However, the green team of the paddock is hopeful to change their fortune at the Spanish GP by introducing a new car.

Aston Martio CTO, Andrew Green Confident About A Bright Future

The present day Formula 1 cars run on the ground effect aerodynamics and as a result of it many teams have been caught out by the issue of porpoising. As a consequence of this, Aston Martin has not been able to extract the maximum potential from its AMR22. Andrew Green expressed his views on the team’s performance by saying there is more in it than just a spot in midfield.

The Silverstone based team is said to introduce a B-car at Barcelona. The team is caught out by delivery issues which translates into one car being available for the Spanish GP. Thus, either Sebastian Vettel or Lance Stroll would be running the old spec Aston Martin car in the sixth round of the Formula 1 season.

The team build on a poor race in Miami. They were only able to salvage 1-point from the weekend with the AMR22 of Lance Stroll. For a long period of time, the British racing stable has created a big hype in the paddock and are eager to live upto it with its new challengers out in Spain.
