Sebastian Vettel, a four-time world champion, opened up about the struggles he and his former rival Lewis Hamilton is going through, not winning anymore. Vettel after a shift from Ferrari to Aston came close to winning a racing couple of times but never crossed the line first. He added Lewis’s feelings of frustration and dissatisfaction with not finishing at the top as something he understands and is going through on his own.

Sebastian won his last race in Singapore back in 2019, that was the last time Ferrari won until Bahrain 2022. He went through a frustrating 2020 season when he struggled to finish in points a lot of times. After being fired from Ferrari, basically, he later got into the Aston Martin garage and still failed to finish on points.
Lewis somewhere is having a similar year Vettel is having for a few years, after the struggles of W13 this season the 7-time world champion isn’t having a great season ahead of him. With all the bad luck striking every other race and getting beaten by his teammate isn’t a scenario even Vettel thought off.

“When you get to know the sport in the way I have done, and Lewis has done, winning and being at the top is what you strive for,” the German told Independent.

Sebastian has been finishing outside the top five quite often now, something now he is used to. But what no one is used to, even Seb is seeing Lewis finishing outside the top 5 and even points. The 4-time champion raised eyebrows over the results Hamilton and his new teammate George are finishing at. The 7-time champion is no doubt being beaten by a newcomer, Russell has been outperforming his car lately, and has given a top  5 finish in all races.

“Everybody is different, but you need to be fair from the outside and say, look, is Lewis naturally going to be as fired up about finishing eighth as George probably is? No, and I would be surprised if he was,” Vettel said.

Mercedes are third in the table, and Lewis is lagging 75 points behind the current leader Max Verstappen. George is 41 points behind the lead and can still hope to stay in the championship.
