Ferrari all-set to have a massive upheaval in their leadership as CEO Beneditto Vigna will be more active in all decision-making processes

It seems like the days of doom are finally over for Ferrari as every single member in the team is now focused on getting the Scuderia back to their winning ways. It has been a long and tiring wait for the die-hard Tifosis who simply want to see their favorite Italian team back on the top of standings as Ferrari is the oldest and most successful team in the history of Formula 1. But the last few years have been nothing but a string of major disappointments for the Maranello outfit as they have come tantalizingly close to winning the Constructors’ Championship, yet they could not actually achieve it.

Now, Ferrari is ready to put their awful results behind and move on to take up new challenges in the upcoming year. The changes started with the resignation of Mattia Binotto from the Team Principal’s post, and the installation of former Alfa Romeo leader Frederic Vasseur in his place. The Frenchborn motorsport engineer has taken up the massive job of leading Ferrari back to the position that they deserve–the topmost place–and it remains to be seen how effective he is in delivering his promises.

But it seems that the Ferrari executives are not comfortable with leaving the entire brunt of the job of leading the team upon Frederic Vasseur’s shoulders alone. According to certain reports which have come into light lately, Ferrari CEO Beneditto Vigna is going to leave his back seat and come into the spotlight to take up an active role in the team. In other words, Vigna wants to be more involved in Ferrari’s decision-making process from now onwards.

It is unclear how Frederic Vasseur might react to Beneditto Vigna intervening in Ferrari’s decision-making process

Frederic Vasseur

Only about a month ago, it was declared that Ferrari will have a vacancy for the post of their Team Principal as Mattia Binotto stepped down from his duties following the team’s second-place finish at the Abu Dhabi GP. A few weeks later, we got to know that it will be Frederic Vasseur who will replace Binotto at the head of the Italian team. But now, Motorsport.com’s Italian correspondents have reported that Vasseur will not be solely responsible for the decisions that will be taken at Ferrari.

From now on, Ferrari CEO Beneditto Vigna ‘wants to take on a more active role alongside Vasseur’, as per the recent news. No official statement has been released by the Maranello outfit regarding what kind of a hands-on approach Vigna will be taking for getting his team back to the top, but it is clear that Vasseur will not enjoy the same autonomy that Mattia Binotto had had during his tenure at the team from 2019 till this year. Now, it only remains to be seen how Frederic Vasseur reacts to this piece of news.
