The 2024 Silly Season continues to intrigue fans, as Red Bull’s investigation into their Team Principal Christian Horner is set to conclude. The Briton was accused of inappropriate behavior towards a female Red Bull employee recently. Hence, amidst this, Ex-F1 CEO, Bernie Ecclestone revealed some key points about the entire drama and had some advice for the 50-year-old.

Ecclestone suggested that Horner should “lay low” and do nothing until the entire investigation concluded and made public. Additionally, the 93-year-old highlighted that the principal’s success in the sport was one of the major reasons to receive such a negative light against the Briton. This popularity caused the 50-year-old to have ‘enemies’ in the sport according to the former CEO.

My advice for Christian is to lay low, do nothing, wait and see what happens. The problem is that when you are successful you have a lot of enemies and this is proof of that.

The ex-CEO also recalled Dietrich Mateschitz‘s death and how it shook the entire top-order of the energy drink manufacturing giant’s team in Formula 1. Following Mateschitz’s death, multiple people in the team were taking the opportunity to portray Horner negatively according to Ecclestone. The main goal was to oust the team principal from the team and make way for themselves at one of the most pristine spots at Milton Keynes.

I think a vacuum was created when Dietrich died. Several people moved into new positions and saw an opportunity to create all kinds of stories to portray Horner in a bad light so that they could arrange his departure and make an opening for themselves to create.

Red Bull will reveal their 2024 challenger shortly following Horner’s ongoing case. Amidst this, Red Bull took multiple rounds of the Silverstone circuit in their RB20 alongside Max Verstappen. Amongst the Red Bull crew present at the circuit was Christian Horner. Hence, despite the ongoing case against the team principal, he was present at the event.

Milton Keynes has already revealed the racing suits that the drivers Sergio Perez and Verstappen will be donning for the upcoming season. Hence, the team eagerly awaits the investigation’s result because ousting Horner from the team unwarranted would cause major problems for the team. The team has decided to keep all details about the entire matter private, so they aren’t revealing any information to the public.

Hence, Red Bull will likely perform at their A-game in the coming season, much like the 2023 performance. Regardless, the team prepares for the challenges alongside the reigning world champion.
