“Best race in the whole season,” Twitter goes haywire as a drama filled Brazil GP goes down with F1 getting it’s new winner
George Russell
After waiting for almost an eternity, Mercedes finally wins a race this season and what a better venue to do it other than the Brazil GP. The Brackley based team managed to score a 1-2 finish whilst also getting the fastest lap of the race. This meant that the Silver Arrows achieved maximum points on Sunday. The race itself was filled with drama and action all around.
The Brazil GP had a lot of controversial events along with F1 getting its newest race winner as George Russell went on to win his first race after participating in 80 races. After racing with Williams for three years, it was about time that the British bloke reaps the rewards for the efforts that he has put in. Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton had a collision at the start of the race which ruined the Dutch driver’s race as a whole but only messed up Lewis’s race a teeny tiny bit.
Having left no space for Max, Lewis closed the gap and collided with Verstappen during the first half of the Brazil GP. It was rather a bit odd to see the Red Bull receive a penalty for what was clearly a racing incident. But then again with Hamilton recently being granted honorary citizenship in Brazil, there was no way that the home hero was going to be punished. Here is how Twitter reacted to this mind twisting race.
F1 fans react as the Brazil GP crowns F1’s newest race winner
Fans were quick to react to the events that happened during the race which left everyone in shock.
When it came to the Ferrari’s, Brazil was not very pleasant for them all weekend. The drivers in red managed to tackle all the issues during the Brazil GP weekend and went on to finish P3 and P4 with Carlos Sainz getting on the podium and Charles Leclerc. Having finished behind him after recovering from Lando Norris sending him into the barriers, Leclerc impressed the crowd with his comeback. This race will not leave the minds of F1 fans for a while now surely.
