“Breakfast meetings? I’ll toast to that” – George Russell showcases his instant reflexes in a short clip during breakfast time

George Russell uses his instant reflexes to get a toast
George Russell is one of the most exciting young talents in Formula 1. The 24-year-old impressed the whole paddock during his rookie years at Williams and convinced Mercedes to sign him up to partner Lewis Hamilton. 2022 may have been a bit of a struggle for the Silver Arrows but the Brit managed to bag his first Grand Prix victory at Interlagos. Apart from the on-track skills, Russell has also become a likeable driver on the grid, who has an endearing way of connecting with the fans.
The Mercedes social media team has always had a great time using George Russell for creating fun clips and videos. Recently the team created another short video with the young driver. The clip shows Russell in the dining room, working on a laptop, (perhaps another PowerPoint presentation?) while a voice in the background informs Russell about an upcoming meeting, expecting the British driver to attend the brief. He replies, “I’ll see you then,” and then proceeds to display some of the fastest reflexes.
After replying about the meeting, a sound comes from the toaster, and as soon as Russell hears the sound and sees the toast jump up in the air, he catches it in the blink of an eye – a true display of the amazing reflexes of F1 drivers. The Brit then goes on to have a bite of the bread as if he does this every day. This is cheered by the people in the room who are amazed at Russell getting it right on his first attempt.
The caption, “Breakfast meetings? I’ll toast to that,” is just the perfect way for the Mercedes driver to boast about his skill. It proves to us how Formula 1 drivers are almost superhumans, who may just only go about driving in circles, but the amount of training and strength needed to sustain optimal performance is incredible. Of course, reflexes are necessary for any driver not only to get the perfect start when the five red lights go out but also to avoid any incident on track instantly.

George Russell set for a better season with Mercedes in 2023

George Russell’s first season at the Silver Arrows was riddled with several issues with the W13 yet the 24-year-old called it his best season in the sport. Both George and Lewis Hamilton struggled to get on pace with the car due to the constant porpoising on the straights, making it even more painful for the duo to compete in races. However, Russell proved himself to be Mr. Consistent who managed to get a streak of P5 finishes early on in the season. As the team resolved some of the car’s problems, the 24-year-old improved his performance and got his first win along with the team’s first 1-2 finish of the year during the Brazilian Grand Prix.
As we move on to the upcoming season, Mercedes and Russell would be looking to improve upon the progress made in the latter half of the season, while also working on solving the fundamental issues with the car. The Silver Arrows had started to challenge Ferrari on a more consistent basis by the end of the season and for 2023, they’d certainly be aiming to be competing for wins throughout the year and in the fight for the Formula 1 world championship. George Russell would do his best to prove himself worthy of battling for the world title.
