“Broken phone, broken car”- Charles Leclerc mocked for using cracked iPhone, Ferrari fans plot ‘GoFundMe’ campaign

The last time fans have been truly happy for Charles Leclerc was back in 2022, during the first few races when the Ferrari racer was performing wonders behind the wheels. The Monegasque seemed to have everything going for him as he scored some perfect race wins with the F1-75, and looked to be right on track for a debut World Championship victory. But only a few races later, the picture completely changed as Max Verstappen showed why he should get a second title win, and Leclerc ultimately lost the battle to his rival from Netherlands by a massive point difference.

In 2023, things do not seem to be looking up for Charles Leclerc either. While Aston Martin has shocked the fans with their enormous improvements that have made Fernando Alonso almost a regular on the podiums, Ferrari’s shortcomings are still glaringly obvious. As of now, only three races have taken place in this season, and it seems that the top three teams for 2023 are Red Bull, Aston Martin, and Mercedes. So, it is safe to say that Leclerc’s Championship claims will have to wait yet another year before they are turned into a reality.

Now, in a recent report, it was seen that Charles Leclerc had visited the Rolex MC Masters event. And in a photo from his outing, he seems to hold an iPhone which had its bottom part of the screen completely cracked. This has gone viral on social media as the fans are making fun of Leclerc, an F1 racer who gets paid in millions, as he did not get his iPhone screen repaired. Some fans even drew a parallelism between his broken phone and his broken F1 career as he never seems to get things right enough to win a Grand Prix despite being hugely talented.

On the workfront, Charles will be seen tackling the steering once again at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku. It is set to take place after two weeks, during the last weekend of April. This will be Leclerc’s best chance to prove that Ferrari can pose a challenge to its rivals, namely, Mercedes, Red Bull and Aston Martin. Currently, Charles Leclerc is down in the 10th position in the drivers’ standings with only six points to his name.
