Charles Leclerc
Charles Leclerc the Ferrari Formula One driver has been hit with a 10-place grid penalty for the upcoming Canadian Grand Prix. Before this news broke out, rumors were flying in the paddock of Leclerc getting a grid penalty after his Baku’s DNF, and unfortunately, all those rumors have come true for the Monegasque.
Due to Charles Leclerc’s 10-place grid penalty, he will start the race from the 11th position at best even if the 24-year-old is able to secure pole position during the qualifying session of the Canadian GP.
This news has been broken out by F1 Analyst Giuliano Duchessa who via his TWITTER wrote, “Leclerc monterà PU3 tutta nuova, quindi il 4’ Turbo con penalità di 10 posizioni.”
Leclerc is currently third in the Constructors Championship and could have done without getting a grid penalty for the upcoming Grand Prix.
After Baku’s DNF Leclerc has slipped down to third in the Constructors Championship behind Perez and now that he has a 10-place grid penalty to his name, things are not looking great for Ferrari’s starlet.

Can Charles Leclerc win the Canadian GP?
Now that Leclerc has got a 10-place grid penalty by the FIA, there is no point in mourning the situation rather the team should now look to do everything in their power to give Leclerc a car that would be able to go past other cars without too much sweat.
Red Bull is really strong when it comes to race pace and they have shown that every now and then during the current season, moreover, with Leclerc out of the picture for a top 3 start, things have got relatively easy for the Red Bull team to secure pole for the Canadian GP.
However, Leclerc’s teammate Sainz has not got any penalty to his name and it is going to be his responsibility to make sure that he is up there with the two Red Bulls.
Ferrari has got raw pace in its locker this season and given that the Montreal track is a free-flowing fast circuit, it should favor overtaking. Leclerc has got a huge task on his hands in Canada and it will be interesting to see if the Monegasque would be able to catch the mighty Red Bulls or not.
