Cara Delevingne has fired back after facing a cyber onslaught following her decision to snub an interview with Martin Brundle during his grid walk. In a Twitter statement, she revealed that she was instructed to decline the interview. The ensuing media frenzy prompted heated Twitter debates, with some calling for banning celebrities who reject Brundle’s interviews.
In her initial tweet, Cara Delevingne stated, “I was told to say no, so I did. Thank you for seeing both sides.” This response shed light on the fact that she had received instructions from someone in the Formula 1 (F1) organization to decline the interview. Delevingne expressed her positive experience at the event, writing, “Anyway, I had so much fun today and was so happy to be there no matter what anyone else may think.”
Addressing the person’s role, the Supermodel clarified, “The person that advised me wasn’t my ‘agent’. It was an F1 representative.” This distinction aimed to correct any misperceptions and highlight that the individual who instructed her to decline the interview was an official representative of the F1 organization rather than her agent.
Cara Delevingne is unquestionably a motorsports fan

Delevingne, despite not possessing a super license, has showcased her passion for motorsports by driving a Formula E car in the past. This challenges the notion that she is not a true motorsports fan, as some critics have claimed.
In 2021, Cara Delevingne will be able to drive the official FIA Formula E Gen2 electric racing vehicle on the streets of London. She was the first non-athlete to drive an FE car. The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship uses an electric racing automobile called the Formula E car.
Supporters of Delevingne argued that she had every right to decline and highlighted the gender bias in targeting her for drama. This debate echoes a similar controversy in 2021 when Megan Thee Stallion, Serena Williams, Venus Williams, and Simone Ashley turned down Brundle’s interview requests.
Critics pointed out that Brundle responded with sarcastic remarks in those instances as well, raising questions about his treatment of women compared to male celebrities like Brad Pitt and David Beckham. As the dust settles, it remains to be seen whether this incident will prompt a reevaluation of interview practices on the grid.
