Carlos Sainz claims he sees himself providing his services to Ferrari for ‘many more years’

Carlos Sainz has been making his trade on the Ferrari F1 team since 2021. He has so far had three productive campaigns with them and ahead of the 2024 season of the sport, he has made it known that he sees himself racing for the Italian team for a long time.

Carlos Sainz has tremendous respect for the history that Ferrari has in the world of motorsport. He feels honored to be competing in F1 for them and understands the responsibility that comes on as their racing driver and thus, wants to give his best for as many years as possible.

While shedding light on the same, he recently told FormulaPassion;

I am so happy at Ferrari and so happy to be part of this team that, at the moment, I don't see an expiration date. I hope I have many, many more years ahead of me and I wouldn't mind having them all in red.  My main motivation is to become world champion. And doing it with Ferrari would be even better.

Looking at the reaction of the Spaniard, it is safe to assume that he wants to continue at Ferrari for many years to come. He ardently feels that he is on a huge team, and has also made it known that according to him, it would be just ideal to win his maiden F1 world championship with them.

Carlos Sainz is yet to sign a contract extension at Ferrari

While Carlos Sainz has talked about his desire to continue at Ferrari for a long time, the fact of the matter is that he has yet to sign a contract extension with them. The 29-year-old’s current deal with the Maranello-based team will come to a close at the end of the 2024 season.

However, Ferrari’s team principal, Fred Vasseur has recently admitted that talks have already begun with Sainz regarding a contract extension. It is believed that the Italian outfit is looking to offer the Spaniard a contract extension until the end of the 2026 F1 season. But at the moment, nothing definitive is known about it.

Carlos Sainz is undoubtedly one of the best drivers on the current F1 grid. He and Charles Leclerc make a very strong line-up for Ferrari, and considering this, it is going to be fascinating to see how long Sainz’s new contract with them will last. Leclerc is also engaged in contract negotiations.
