Carlos Sainz will be forced to leave Ferrari at the end of this year. The Spanish driver will be replaced by Lewis Hamilton next year. The 29-year-old was disappointed by the Scuderia’s decision to not renew his contract beyond 2024. However, it seems that Sainz will continue to support teammate Charles Leclerc in the upcoming season.

Sainz mentioned that he has always tried to be a team player ever since he made his F1 debut with Toro Rosso in 2015. The 29-year-old claimed that he has been successful in supporting his teammates throughout his career. Subsequently, Carlos Sainz affirmed that he would be ready to help Leclerc if such a situation arises this season.

Of course. I’ve always been a team player, I’ll always be, every team that I’ve gone into in Formula 1, I’ve been I think a great team player. And yeah, I will definitely help Charles if I have to.

Moreover, the Spaniard laid down his expectations for the same from Charles Leclerc. Sainz reckoned that he would be banking on the Monegasque’s support if he was fighting for the world championship this year. Although, this would depend on the pace of the Ferrari SF-24 and whether Maranello has finally bridged the gap with Red Bull.

Sainz was the only non-Red Bull driver to win a race in 2023 at the Singapore GP. However, the Spanish driver still finished behind Leclerc in the standings, albeit only by six points. Carlos Sainz would be looking to achieve a few wins this season to establish his worth in the sport once again. Although, the 29-year-old claimed that he has nothing to prove in his final season at Ferrari.

Certainly, Carlos Sainz will have a lot of pressure this season. the 29-year-old will need to secure a seat for next season. However, the Spanish driver will likely have a solid foundation in the form of the SF-24. As such, fans would be looking forward to seeing how Sainz performs in the upcoming season.
