Carlos Sainz had a difficult couple of weeks before the Australian GP. The Spanish driver missed the Saudi Arabian GP due to an appendicitis surgery. The Ferrari team boss reckoned that perhaps he’ll ask the Spaniard to have a surgery every week to get such results. The 55-year-old admitted that it was a good feeling to secure a 1-2 for Maranello. The Frenchman highlighted that the Scuderia had made a significant step forward compared to the start of the weekend at Albert Park.

I don't know if we need to do the surgery every week [he jokes]. Its a good feeling. The 1-2 is good. We have done a step forward that you could see since he start of the weekend.

Certainly, Ferrari has found itself in a great position after taking a 1-2 finish in Melbourne. Carlos Sainz has once again proved his worth to the grid despite having no seat for 2025 so far. As such, the 29-year-old would continue to push himself to the limit to showcase his talent to potential teams for next season. It remains to be seen where the Spaniard is headed after his stint ends at Maranello this year.
