Carlos Sainz is one of the most talented drivers on the current F1 grid. The 28-year-old had proven himself as a great midfield contender with Toro Rosso, Renault, and McLaren before joining Ferrari in 2021. Recently, the Spanish driver was rumored to be the top pick for Audi when the German automaker joined F1 in 2026. However, Sainz has ruled out such talks for now.
Sainz affirmed his stance on being fully focused on his time with Ferrari till at least 2024, as per his current contract. On the topic of a potential switch to Audi in the future, the 28-year-old believed it was not the time for such speculation. He said, “That would be stupid to talk about”. Instead, the Spanish driver wanted first to achieve his own potential in F1.
Carlos mentioned that the Spanish driver will continue with the Scuderia for the foreseeable future. The 28-year-old dreamt of winning the F1 world championship with Ferrari and is set to continue working towards fulfilling this goal in his career. Carlos Sainz said, “There’s nothing that would make me happier than winning again with Ferrari,”.

The 28-year-old feels at home in Maranello. Despite the recent calls for massive shake-ups at the Scuderia, Sainz insisted that the team is in a great atmosphere as the Spanish driver reckoned that Ferrari was in a good place. The Prancing Horse signed Fred Vasseur as its new Team Principal earlier this year. The Frenchman has been tasked to win the F1 title for the Italian giant.
However, the 2023 season has not gone smoothly for the team. Charles Leclerc has crashed on several occasions and lost out heavily to rivals. At the same time, Sainz lost out on a podium finish in Australia because of a last-minute penalty. Subsequently, there is much work left to be done at Maranello if the Scuderia wants to turn things around.
Thus, Carlos Sainz has made his present objective clear. The Spanish driver remains committed to Ferrari till at least 2024. the 28-year-old is working towards winning the world title for the Scuderia. Although there are a lot of hurdles in the way for now. A disastrous 2023 campaign might pursuade Sainz to take a look at Audi in the future.
