The Formula 1 circus has come to the Marina Bay circuit as it looks to dazzle in the Singaporean heat and the infamous night race. To everyone’s surprise, Red Bull was not the top team as the first day drew to a close in Singapore. Ferrari topped FP1 and FP2 while Verstappen only managed a P3 and P8 finish in the sessions, respectively.
Carlos Sainz, who led FP2, isn’t buying into Red Bull’s underwhelming pace. When question about Red Bull’s supposed lack of pace, the Ferrari driver said, “No, I don’t believe it. “When you look at the long-run pace, they looked like the strongest car. Once they sort out the one-lap pace they’ll be there fighting for pole. Hopefully we will be in the fight too.”So there you have it, Carlos believes Red Bull’s still the fastest car across race distance and will soon reclaim their top position on Saturday.
The shock seemed too good to be true for the Spaniard as he led Max Verstappen by Seven-tenths at the end of FP2. Sainz’s concerns are reminiscent of similar comments made by his teammate, Charles Leclerc, in the lead up to the Grand Prix.

Max Verstappen had a hilarious 2016 flashback as he spotted first of the two lizards on track at the Singapore GP. Verstappen quickly took to the radio, saying “There’s a lizard again on the track. A smaller one this time.” Max’s race engineer GP replied,“OK understood, maybe Godzilla’s son.”
Verstappen encountered a lizard on the same track 7 years ago which was named ‘Godzilla’. The Dutchman agreeingly laughed at the reply. We send well wishes to the 2016 Godzilla.
