Ferrari had a disastrous start to the 2023 F1 season compared to last year. Though it is a well-known fact now, the Italian media does not fail to remind them of it every day. Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz is fed up with the negativity. He claims Ferrari would be better off with positivity, love, and support. However, the Spaniard does not deny that Ferrari have to improve.

Carlos Sainz spoke to GP Racing magazine about the Italian media’s influence. He stated, “I can tell that the Italian media and the Tifosi want Ferrari to be up there. What they need to realize is that no one is more upset or angry or unhappy with the situation than every single [team member] here.” The 28-year-old is aware of the team’s shortcomings and wants the situation in Ferrari to improve.

Sainz explained that everyone back in Maranello have been working hard to turn things around. He said, “Every driver and mechanic in Maranello – we’re the ones who aren’t happy, the first ones that don’t like the situation and we’re the ones who are pushing flat out to revert it. Because it’s also our egos, our performance. We’re proud to be Ferrari and we want to put Ferrari up front.”

Sainz is unhappy with how Ferrari have been portrayed in the media. The Grand Prix winner confessed that the comments are more of a distraction and have a negative effect on him. He added that it does not help the team at all. Sainz concluded by saying they are bringing down the team’s spirit and not helping by putting out relevant or decent criticism.

Sainz confessed that Ferrari are already upset over the situation. They have a huge gap deficit with Red Bull and even Aston Martin. Undoubtedly, they are working hard back in Maranello to close the gap. They aim to get on the podium and deliver consistent results.

Sainz revealed that Ferrari are working hard and trying to understand their main problem. He does not think the negativity in the media helps them in any way.

Sainz wants to understand why they are struggling a lot during the race. He confirmed that Ferrari would try different setups and go in another direction, which would help improve the pace.

The team will bring a massive update to Imola. It is the sixth round of the 2023 Formula 1 championship, and Ferrari will rely on their new parts. According to an Italian Publication, the Maranello outfit will bring revised side pods to improve aerodynamic efficiency.
