The Red Bull F1 team has annihilated its competition during the 2023 F1 season, with Max Verstappen brilliantly leading the team’s charge. While the Dutchman has been in sensational form, his teammate, Sergio Perez, has massively struggled, and the Ferrari starlet, Charles Leclerc, has recently given his opinion on the massive gap between the two Red Bull drivers.

Max Verstappen has been dominating the pinnacle of motor racing since the 2022 season of the sport, whereas Sergio Perez has found it difficult just to stay close to his younger teammate. As things stand, the Dutchman has so far managed 314 points in the ongoing campaign, whereas Perez has trembled his way to just 189.

Charles Leclerc feels the gap between the two is too big, and while talking about the same, he told Motorsport, “I think Max is a great rider, but at the same time there are many who can’t explain such a wide margin between him and Checo. At times the margin between Max and Checo was higher than I would have expected.”

But, I repeat, I don’t have the complete vision of the situation.” The 25-year-old has made it clear that, according to him, the big gap between the Red Bull drivers is something that baffles him but has also made it known that he can’t say a lot of the topic, considering he does not have the knowledge of the whole Max-Sergio situation.

While Charles Leclerc has made his surprise known over the situation at Red Bull, he has got his woes to deal with at the Ferrari Formula 1 team. The SF-23 has not performed as per expectations, and this has massively impacted Monegasque’s push for the 2023 Formula 1 World Championship.

Max Verstappen has made the ongoing campaign formality for him, with Leclerc and Co. fighting to finish second in the Constructors Championship. The battle for P2 is a three-way fight at the moment but could get turned into a four-way action if McLaren managed to rise the ranks during the second leg.

Charles Leclerc’s dream is to become a World Champion with Ferrari, and his next best opportunity to achieve his goal will come around in 2024. However, as far as the ongoing season is concerned, it is only going to be about damage limitation for the Maranello-based Ferrari outfit.
