Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc has undoubtedly not given up on winning the world championship in 2022. His  main competitor and defending Formula One World Champion Max Verstappen now leads by 63 points after the Monegasque dropped 25 points in the French Grand Prix.

Not just Charles Leclerc at Ferrari is clinging to the hope for the championship. Mattia Binotto, the team principal of the Maranello-based racing team stated on Monday that Ferrari aims to end the season in Hungary with a one-two, while Leclerc’s teammate Carlos Sainz believes Verstappen may produce a few blunders later in the year.

“Maybe people will think I’m crazy, but when I see the statistics, I know that if I win every race and Max comes second without driving the fastest lap every time, I’ve seen it on Twitter, we can still win the championship,” said Leclerc.

“So now I just have to win all the remaining races. It won’t be easy, but that’s the spirit we have to have. Otherwise I can stay at home. What motivates me in F1 is winning, so I will believe in it until the end,” concluded Leclerc.

The next race on the calendar before the summer break of Formula One is the Hungarian Grand Prix this weekend at the Hungaroring in Mogyoród. This is the 38th Formula One race taking place in the Hungaroring.
