Charles Leclerc, the Ferrari F1 driver, pulled out an impressive performance during yesterday’s US GP quali session. He was on it from the get-go and while he secured the pole for Sunday’s race, he has been making the headlines for his radio outburst toward his race engineer for omitting Max Verstappen’s name during the Q3 session.
While interacting with his race engineer, Xavi, Charles Leclerc got quite heated in the cockpit of his SF-23 as the former while talking about the Q3 lap times omitted Max Verstappen’s name. When Xavi again talked about the same he said ‘So lap time deleted for Verstappen.’ At this moment, the Ferrari driver lost his cool and gave a furious response to the race engineer.
Their whole conversation has become a big point of discussion among the fans and it went like this:
Xavi: *tells Max's time* Charles: FOR F*CKS SAKE Xavi: lap time deleted for Verstappen, Charles: FOR F*CKS SAKE, tell me the name before! Xavi: Verstappen lap time deleted! Charles: well, I had a heart attack at the time, Xavi: yeah, ok
The 26-year-old apart from his radio outburst, put his Ferrari machinery through the absolute wringer during yesterday’s quali.
He was very quickly able to find a sweet spot in terms of car setup and this was one of the main reasons why he did not look in any kind of discomfort when the lights of Max Verstappen were finding it difficult to keep their car on track.
Charles Leclerc is in prime position to secure triumph in the 2023 US GP
While Charles Leclerc was quite furious at the end of yesterday’s qualifying session, the fact of the matter is that he is starting the main US GP from P1. This is reason enough for him to forget about yesterday and focus solely on the upcoming tasks. First up is the Sprint Shootout and the Sprint race and after this, the main prize comes on Sunday.

The 2023 US GP has got Max Verstappen starting his race from sixth place on the grid and this could help Leclerc create a decent gap between himself and the chasing pack. Verstappen will take some time to clear the cars ahead of him and if the Mongasque is able to use this time wisely, it will bode well for him during the race.
However, despite this, it is not going to be easy for Charles Leclerc to come away with a victory at the Circuit of the Americas. The whole F1 paddock is well aware of the might of the RB19 and considering this, Leclerc would be required to be at the top of his game during Sunday’s all-important United States Grand Prix.
