Charles Leclerc, the Ferrari F1 driver, had a challenging 2023 season. The SF-23 did not work as per expectations and because of this, he was only able to conjure up a fifth-place finish in the drivers championship. Leclerc feels the car did not deliver as much as it was expected to.

Charles Leclerc’s been with Ferrari since the 2019 F1 season but is yet to mount up a title-worthy challenge. While he has his full faith in the abilities of the people on the Maranello-based team, he believes that the Italian outfit missed quite a few tricks when it came to getting the best of the SF-23 during the recent season.

However, despite his 2023 woes, he is hoping for a more fruitful 2024 campaign and while talking about the same, he made his feelings clear, as reported by AUTO MOTOR UND SPORT. Looking at the reaction of the Monegasque driver, it is quite clear that he is immensely disappointed with his 2023 campaign. But looking ahead, he hopes that Ferrari will be able to learn from its lessons and produce a much better car for the 2024 F1 season.

It wasn't an outstanding season because our car wasn't as good as expected. On the other hand, we have also learned a lot for 2024. And that's the best you can hope for in a difficult year.

Charles Leclerc is desperate to fight for the F1 world championship

While Charles Leclerc is hoping for a better F1 season next year in comparison to 2023, deep down in his heart, he would be hoping that Fred Vassuer and Co. can come up with a world championship-worthy car next year. The closest he came to fighting for the title was during the 2022 campaign.

Leclerc has all the skills in his arsenal to become a future world champion. Moreover, he is considered by several as one of the best drivers on the modern F1 grid. All he needs from Ferrari is a lethal car that would be able to take the fight to Max Verstappen and Co. shortly.

The Red Bull F1 team has annihilated all its rivals under the current set of regulations and has really not given rivals much breathing space. They produced a mighty car during the 2023 campaign and considering this, it will be fascinating to see what kind of a car Ferrari will come up with ahead of 2024.
