Charles Leclerc was on top of the timing sheets at the end of Friday’s Free Practice 2 session and ahead of today’s qualifying has indicated that the Maranello-based team wants to be at the front end during the wet conditions that are predicated for the upcoming Hungary qualifying.

Ferrari was in a class of its own on Friday where its drivers Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc topped the first two practice sessions and the Monegasque hopes that they would be able to keep the competition at bay even if qualifying takes place under wet conditions.

Leclerc has stressed that it is going to be important for the Italian team to maintain their pace advantage today and has said, “It looks like it’s going to rain tomorrow, so we’ll have to be on top of this and obviously put the tires in the right window, which is always difficult whenever it’s raining, so this will be our main priority for tomorrow.”

On Friday, there was not a single cloud in the sky and the sessions were run under fully dry conditions, but for today, the situation is going to be completely opposite.

However, despite the rain factor, Leclerc and Co. are highly optimistic about delivering a solid result for the Italian Formula One team.

The 24-year-old while talking about his Friday afternoon said, “Yeah, we did. It’s been a very productive day. We changed quite a lot of things on the car.”

On my side, FP1 was quite tricky, [but] FP2 we took the right road, so [I’m] confident that we did the right work for Sunday.”

Charles Leclerc has admitted that the FP1 session was a bit tricky for him but as the afternoon progressed he became more and more in tune with the F1-75.
