Charles Leclerc is starting today’s French Grand Prix from pole position and ahead of the race has given an indication that Red Bull and tire degradation can possibly ruin Ferrari’s plans.
Charles Leclerc has got the Red Bull duo of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez starting in close quartes of him and the Monegasque being aware of the predicament has shown concern.
Lecelrc during his post qualifying interview was asked whether tire deg and Red Bull going to be a issue for him during the race and the 24-year-old said, “I think both go together. “If the degradation is not okay, I know that Red Bull will overtake us (laughs).”
Currently, the heat across europe is at an all time high and during the first two days it was of the French event, it was made pretty clear how much of a factor the scorching tempratures are going to be.
Leclerc knows that tire managemnt is going to be a major challenge for the teams and that the race could very well be decided on the team pitwalls.
Moreover, heat is only problem, the two Red Bull are starting the race from 2nd and 3rd on the grid and Leclerc has admitted that if Ferrari is not able to manage its tires, then the duo will definitely overtake him.

Ahead of the French Grand Prix, Max Verstappen is on 208 points and has got a lead of 38 points in the Drivers Championship, moreover, the Dutchman is followed by Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc who on the back of his exploits has managed 170 points.
If Charles wants to close the gap to Red Bull’s starlet, then he has got only one option ad that is to deliever in the extremely hot conditions that the drivers will put themselves through during the race.
Moreover, Ferrari and Red Bull have had their fair share of DNF’s this season and considering that the Maranello-based team had a DNF in Austria, they really can’t afford another given the delicate situation in the Championship.
