Charles Leclerc, the Ferrari F1 driver, has had a roller coaster of a 2023 F1 season so far. He has found it hard to get to grips with the operating style of Ferrari’s SF-23 and ahead of the team’s home race, Leclerc has raised the curtain around the biggest weakness of the Italian outfit’s F1 car.
Charles Leclerc had a pretty torrid time behind the wheel of the SF-23 during the first leg where he was seen battling with his car on several occasions. He came into the ongoing second leg full of optimism but his positive outlook has completely disappeared into thin air since last week’s Dutch GP.
The Monegasque came away with a DNF from the Zandvoort event and while talking about his car’s gremlins ahead of the Italian GP, he told Autosport, “It’s the unpredictability of the car and how the balance of the car changes from track to track.” Leclerc has made it crystal clear that Ferrari’s Achilles heel in 2023 is the unpredictable behavior of the SF-23.
Moreover, he has made it known that the balance of the car changes significantly from circuit to circuit and this is also playing its part in hindering the racing capabilities of the Ferrari drivers. While Leclerc had a DNF in Zandvoort, Carlos Sainz, on the other hand, was also only able to score a P5 finish.

Charles Leclerc would eye a podium finish in front of the Tifosi
While Charles Leclerc has sounded a bit dejected with the up-and-down performance output of the SF-23, he would be eyeing a podium finish at least in front of the Tifosi at the iconic Autodromo Nazionale Monza F1 circuit. Moreover, it is believed that Ferrari will be coming up with upgrades for the upcoming race.
The SF-23 despite having its issues, has a strong pace and Monza’s free-flowing circuit could help Leclerc and co. in extracting the most performance out of the car. However, it would not be easy for Ferrari to become a nuisance at the top end of the grid considering the teams that they have got around them in the Constructors’ Championship.
Aston Martin and Ferrari made a big step in the right direction at the Zandvoort F1 circuit and could pose a real challenge to Charles Leclerc and Co. for the podium places. Ferrari has got all the resources to have a strong outing in Monza and several eyes will be on them during the three-day event.
