Charles Leclerc’s Ferrari SF24 had a MASSIVE problem at the start of the Bahrain GP

During the opening Formula 1 Bahrain Grand Prix of 2024, Charles Leclerc of Ferrari claimed that a problem with his front right brake was impossible to manage. During the opening laps, Leclerc was in second place. But George Russell of Mercedes and later Carlos Sainz his teammate, passed him twice. The driver from Monaco managed to overtake Russell and secure the fourth position on the road, but after the race, he lagged 14 seconds behind Sainz.
At Turn 10, Leclerc was observed in the early stages of the race struggling to slow down into the downhill. Left-hander, raising the possibility that his brakes were malfunctioning. Leclerc feels that if Russell hadn’t opened the door for him when he ran wide off the track at Turn 10, his malfunctioning brake would have made it difficult to pass him.

Fred Vasseur the team principal of Ferrari f1 stated that Leclerc had problems throughout the race. Leclerc was found having break malfunctioning issues, which was making him lose six-tenths per lap. Charles Leclerc was seen fighting with George Russell and Carlos Sainz. Eventually which made him a p4 finish behind his teammate. Vassuer then remarked that the team has to make sure that these problems don’t arise again. These problems back to back can degrade the morale of drivers.
Carlos Sainz wished to prevent Charles Leclerc from losing time at Bahrain GP 2024
During the Bahrain Grand Prix, Carlos Sainz claims that he moved “under control” on Charles Leclerc. To prevent his teammate from losing any time. In the early going, Leclerc was three positions ahead of Sainz. But he fell behind Sergio Perez and George Russell while tending to a significant brake issue. Subsequently, Sainz darted into Turn 1, forcing Leclerc to retreat outside when his angle was compromised approaching the Turn 2 apex.
Sainz contends that he races the sister car methodically. As it was taken aback when it was implied that tensions between the two Ferraris had grown. Sainz overtook Leclerc as the leading Ferrari on the road, but he would eventually fall behind him when the team decided to give him the advantage during the first pit stops. But on lap 17 he again overtook the Monegasque driver.
Sainz then added his moves were necessary as Ferrari needed to fight with Russell. As Charles was facing break issues and Russell gaining time on both the Ferraris. So, it became necessary for him to make a move. On social media handles people were arguing because Sainz was out of contract in 2025. Also, Lewis Hamilton taking his seat after the end of the 2024 season.
